What is Podcasting.
Podcasting is process of subscribing to audio content from a web site and downloading the content to a user's computer. It is much like subscribing to cable television. There is a host of channels to choose from and once subscribed to a channel, the user has the option which content to view (or download in the case of podcasting.)

And don't worry, an iPod is not necessary! A podcast is merely a subscription to an audio file library. An iPod is one way to listen to audio files, but many podcast never leave the personal computer...just plug in some speakers and listen in.

Download the software.
A podcast is obtained through a client program, such as ITunes. You need to download and install a Podcast client. Here are a few available programs (They are free, so save your cash):
