Pastors
Pastor Cal Thompson has been a part of the First Assembly pastoral team since 1990. Before moving to the Fargo/Moorhead region, Cal (along with his wife, Kelly) served as youth pastor in Wheaton, Illinois, for more than seven years.
Cal is from Oshawa, Ontario and committed his life to Christ at a young age. During his high school years, he developed a passion for evangelism and was active in the youth and bus ministry efforts of his home church. It was at this time his call to ministry became apparent, and in 1976, he made the decision to go to college and prepare for ministry. He is a graduate of the Assemblies of God Graduate School with a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Central Bible College, in Springfield, Missouri.
Cal is a fourth-generation Pentecostal. He and Kelly have been married since 1981, and have two married daughters, Tanya and Brittany.
Cal and Kelly have served in youth ministry since 1985. They have led an inner-city missions trip to Chicago each summer since 1991, in which more than 1,000 students have participated.
Cal currently serves as pastor of the youth ministry at First Assembly.
