Pastors
Pastor Scott Stensgard was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, where as a young boy, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Scott and his three younger sisters were raised in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, by their parents, Jon and Shiela. During his high school years, Scott was active in academics, sports, choir, and his church youth group.
Upon graduating from high school in 1985, Scott attended the University of Minnesota-Morris, where he stayed for two years. In the winter of 1988, he attended North Central Bible College for one semester, and in the fall, he transferred to Moorhead State University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education, graduating in 1991. While attending MSU, Scott was active in the children’s, youth, music, and college ministries of First Assembly. In the 1991-92 school year, Scott taught 3rd grade at Park Christian School and remained active in the ministries of First Assembly. In the spring of 1992, he began working as a part-time pastor in the Children’s Ministry, and became a full-time children’s pastor in the fall of 1992. From 2003 to 2007, Scott served as junior high pastor. Presently, Scott is serving as our assimilation & discipleship pastor, where he oversees adult Christian education, the work-release program, and several hospitality ministries.
Scott has a passion to see people develop their faith through Christian education and enjoys seeing others actively using their gifts in the ministries of the church as well as in the community marketplace.
